Being an Arsenal Fan

I guess you all came to know by this title, that I ‘am Big Arsenal fan. Let me be honest, that being Arsenal fan is not easy. I started supporting Arsenal from year 2003-2004 season. The only reason I started supporting them was because of great Dennis Bergkamp.I simply loved watching him, it’s like I would watch him play whole day. The 2003-2004 season where Arsenal was Invincible, people still talk about that team. But Dennis was the backbone of that team; he was the mind of that team. It was so joy to watch Arsenal play during their time in Highbury. That team had everything you wanted to see in football, From great goalkeeper (Lehman) to greatest striker that Premier League has every witness, the great Thierry Henry. The icing on the cake of that invincible season was winning title on White Hart Lane.

Since we moved to Emirates from Highbury, it has been very taught and disappointment for all the Gooners. We have only won few FA cup, which no longer consider as great tournament, as most of the top team play only second team in this competition. Most of the Gooners were against Wenger, but once he was fired, we all knew how important he was for our club. Guess on his entire career, only once we were not in Champion League. Now I understand the value of this great man, when I see Arsenal not play in Champion league.

Arsene Wenger Slams 'Naive' Arsenal After 2-0 Champions League ...

As an Arsenal fan, the most heartbreaking moment was when we lost Champions League final on 17 May 2006 against Barcelona. That was the best ever chance to win Champions League, God knows how many years we have to wait to win Champion League. I still remember that match, although I was still a kid. Watching that match alone around 12 mid night in India and crying after the match. That was one of my saddest days of my life. But I believe red card to Jens Lehmann was the turning point of the match. Have it been full eleven players on the pitch, the result might have been different, we can argue about this whole day. Despite 10 players against that great Barcelona team, we played very well. When Sol Campbell scored towards the end of the first half, I thought we will win. But goal from Samuel Eto and Juliano Bellitti broken the heart of thousand of Arsenal fan all over the world.
